Build It and They Will Come To Booth N-6129 at PACK EXPO 2018

Trade shows are exciting and exhausting and the bigger they are, the more exciting and more exhausting they become. PACK EXPO International® 2018 opens on Sunday for four days in our hometown of Chicago.

We welcome friends, colleagues, customers and competitors from around the world as we show off our unique approach to automation solutions during the day and our beautiful city on the shores of Lake Michigan at night.

PACK EXPO is a “build it and they will come” type of event. It’s where innovation and automation connect to show us the future of manufacturing technology. AMK will be displaying its innovative motion control technology that is built on decades of experience and is used worldwide. Our technology is what machine builders need to grow their business and boost their manufacturing impact by providing innovation where it’s needed most – in the machine.

Front and center in our booth will be a demo affectionately known as “the kugelbahn” featuring  the AMK decentralized solutions, including the AMKASMART iSA decentralized machine controller. When a machine builder includes an iSA — our motion controller designed with a Linux operating system — with one of the AMKs motors, they have created a full motion control system without a space-hungry control cabinet. This is important as manufacturing floor footprints are getting smaller and smaller. Incorporating controllers without big boxes improves a business’s top line, bottom line and ROI. The iSA also features a three-phase connection and integrated DC-bus power supply. The kugelbahn is a show favorite – I promise you’ll be mesmerized by it.

MAKe Middleware Reduces the Need for Engineers To Learn Another Language

Perhaps the most exciting feature of the show this year is the new MAKe middleware, designed to reduce the expertise needed to program a machine. The MAKe solutions will be available in two versions, initially: MAKe AA, or auto-adjust, and MAKe CC, or conveyor control. We’re hoping to simplify machine control programming and help our customers innovate outside the confines of a template.  This simple-to-use interface automatically recognizes the system’s components, which allows it to do what it’s supposed to do when it’s supposed to do it.This alleviates a pain point that manufacturers are experiencing in competing for skilled and unskilled workers.
